Oof. It's been a strange week. Short, because of the holiday Monday and also because Tuesdays are family days for me, so work-wise, the week felt like it zoomed by.
Still, some exciting things went down over at December Studio Headquarters. I teamed up with 2 other local businesses to offer a sweet giveaway package which we posted on Wednesday afternoon. We are hosting it on instagram, and if you scroll back one blog post, you can read all about it. Or check out my insta feed.
On October 6th I did a shout out on my facebook page to enlist 20 friends to help me #spread love using my mini-mini note cards with the messages: YOU ARE AWESOME, the end. & YOU ARE AWESOME & i love you. I wanted to spread these little notes around the world by randomly handing them to strangers and friends alike to maybe, just maybe, start a little revolution & make the world great again. I have a blog post coming up with the stories that are already rolling in from those who have started to share the notes + will be updating my facebook regularly as more friends share their experiences. This is a fun, lovely and uplifting little project that is a true testament to the power and necessity of art and community.
I have continued to share my #100dayproject pieces on instagram and they are going in a direction that I hadn't anticipated but that I am really enjoying. Again, I am writing a blog post all about this project, why it's important to do a project like this and what it is teaching me about creativity and process. Here is today's image, revealed early for blog readers only;)
I have been brainstorming + researching packaging extras to include in print and card packs. Looking into stickers, stamps and more to up my packaging game. I love designing new stuff so this is fun for me.
I am writing product spotlights for each item that I am currently selling in my shop to help customers get to know my process and materials better. I am very proud of the products and artwork that I offer in my shop and I have worked very diligently and doggedly to get my work to this level. I feel it deserves some flattering light. COMING UP.
There's a rough outline for my October newsletter on my desk and I am continually evolving that as I go. Is there anything in there you would like to see? Or on my blog? Do you have questions about what I do, how I do it or how I got to this place in my art career? Please let me know. Feedback is important to me so I can keep building a business that you all want to see.
Halloween is sneaking up behind us quickly and I will be happy to see it come, and to see it go. Not my fave holiday, but the kids dig it and that helps to drum up my enthusiasm. We are on costume hunting duty this weekend, apparently, so I will let you know how that goes next week.
